Traffic on expressways remains light 2 days ahead of New Year’s Eve
MANILA, Philippines – Traffic flow on the country’s major expressways have remained light to moderate as of Sunday, December 29, or two days ahead of the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
According to the live monitoring feed from the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx), traffic at the major entry and exit points of the expressway remains light to moderate including at the Balintawak toll plaza, the Mindanao Avenue exit and at the Karuhatan exit all the way to the Smart Connect Interchange, and at the Bocaue toll plaza.
The traffic situation at the various expressways adjacent to the NLEX, like the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) and the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx) is also light, with a few vehicles entering the Luisita Toll Plaza, the Clark South A Toll Plaza, the Mabiga Southbound toll plaza. A short vehicle queue meanwhile is present at the Tipo toll plaza.

As for the Southern Luzon Expressway (SLEx), the Manila Toll Expressway Systems, Inc. on its tweet said that the traffic situation in most areas along the highway as of 8:42 a.m. remains light. This includes both lanes near the Alabang Viaduct and at the Calamba area.

Despite the light traffic, vehicles are expected to swell over the hours due to the long vacation periods, as December 30 (Rizal Day, Monday) up to January 2 (Thursday) are all considered holidays.
