SAN PEDRO CITY –– The police recovered P3.4 million worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) from two village officials in Dasmariñas City in Cavite province early Friday.
Cavite police chief Col. Marlon Santos, in a text message, identified the suspect as Pacalinog Rasul, 52, a councilor in Barangay Datu Esmael.
Rasul, the subject of the 2 a.m. buy-bust operation in his village, was listed as a police “high-value target” for illegal drugs.
The police also arrested Rasul’s companion, Taratingan Ala, 63, who was a watchman in the same village.
He said Rasul sold the police a sachet of suspected shabu, but authorities found on him five more packs of the suspected drugs. The total shabu recovered was 500 grams worth P3.4 million.
They also found a .45 caliber gun on the suspect.
Santos said they were still trying to find out Rasul’s source of drugs “but he wouldn’t talk yet.”
