LIGAO CITY –– At least 10 contingents dressed in their colorful costumes brought cheers to thousands of spectators from different parts of Albay in a street parade here on Monday afternoon.

Selected high school students danced in the streets showcasing animated and fantasy Disney movie characters like Mulan, Book of Life, Dumbo, Hercules, Jungle Book, Frozen and many more.

Ma. Gina Regilme Balingbing, tourism officer of Ligao City, said the street dance featuring cartoon characters, has been part of the holiday tradition of the city.

Then Ligao City mayor Linda Gonzalez initiated the street dancing and the present administration continued it.

“This annual event aims to bring excitement and cheers to Ligaoeños and neighboring towns during the Christmas season,” Balingbing said.
