LIST: Flights canceled on December 24 due to TS Ursula

MANILA, Philippines — Budget carrier Cebu Pacific has canceled several of its domestic flights scheduled on Tuesday, December 24, amid impending risks posed by Tropical Storm Ursula.

In an advisory on Monday, Cebu Pacific said the following flights will not push through:

Cebu Pacific said affected passengers may either rebook flights within 30 days without penalties, refund tickets in full, or store the value of the ticket in a Travel Fund for future use.

“We appeal for patience and understanding as we manage flights amidst inclement weather conditions. The safety of all is our foremost priority,” it added in a statement.

The state weather bureau has said Ursula slightly strengthened as it moves towards Eastern Visayas on Monday. It likewise raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 over Guiuan in Eastern Samar.

Meanwhile, Signal No. 1 was raised over the following areas:

The weather disturbance was spotted 670 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph, and moves west-northwest at 30 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Moderate to heavy rains are expected over Dinagat Islands, Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands, Eastern Visayas, Romblon, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, and the northern portions of Cebu and Negros Occidental between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday, according to Pagasa.

Meanwhile, light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains may be expected over the Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, and the rest of Visayas and Surigao del Norte, it added.
