MANILA, Philippines — The office of Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday attributed the recent increase in her trust and approval ratings to her “quiet yet committed efforts” for the Filipino people.
The latest Pulse Asia’s nationwide survey, which was conducted from December 3 to 8, showed that Robredo got an approval rating of 58 percent, an 8-percentage point increase from her September rating.
Her trust rating also went up by seven percent to 53 percent from September’s 46 percent.

“We are humbled by and grateful for our fellow Filipinos’ continued trust and support for the Vice President,” OVP spokesperson Barry Gutierrez said.
“This is affirmation that her quiet yet committed efforts on behalf of our countrymen continue to bear fruit more than halfway into her term as VP,” he added.
The most recent Pulse Asia survey showed that the most trusted Philippine official is still President Rodrigo Duterte, whose approval and trust ratings went up to 87 percent and 83 percent, respectively.
Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano likewise received a notable spike in his trust and approval ratings.
He obtained an 80 percent trust rating in December, up by 16 percentage points compared to his 64 percent September rating.
His approval ratings also increased to 76 percent from 62 percent in the third quarter of 2019.
