OLONGAPO CITY, Zambales, Philippines — A P20-daily wage increase for minimum wage earners in Central Luzon has been approved by the National Wage and Productivity Commission.
The new rate will take effect on Jan. 1, according to the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-3.
The increase covers employees working in the region’s private sector “regardless of position, designation, or status of employment and the method by which their wages are paid,” said the board.
The wage order, however, excludes household or domestic helpers and those employed in the personal service of another.—Joanna Rose Aglibot
