CHEd considering ‘integrity’ subjects

/ 05:20 AM December 19, 2019

MANILA, Philippines — Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) chair Prospero de Vera is considering the inclusion of “integrity” subjects — like Corruption 101 and People-Planet Profit — in a bid to raise the youth’s awareness and develop a generation of “graft busters around the country.”

The proposal is an offshoot of a memorandum signed by CHEd with the Office of the Ombudsman and the University of the Philippines System.

CHEd pledged to oversee the production of education materials on ethics and accountability subjects, train professors, and develop an elective on ethics and accountability in public service. —Matthew Reysio-Cruz
