MANILA, Philippines — A massage parlor inside a subdivision in Parañaque City that was being used as a front for prostitution and catered only to Korean nationals has been raided by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
The raid which was conducted over the weekend led to the arrest of three people, including a Korean national. Seven Filipino women — four of them minors — were also rescued by authorities.
Son Young-hai and his live-in partner Ma. Edna de Guzman had reportedly been operating the sex den in Moonwalk Subdivision for around three years. On the other hand, their driver, Mark Jim Basigsig Costan, would bring the sex workers to customers.
According to NBI International Airport Investigation Division chief Manuel Dimaano, Healing Hands massage parlor catered exclusively to Korean nationals. “Bookings” were done over the phone and in Korean. The NBI first contacted the massage parlor through the number posted on its Facebook page.
“We tried to contact the number. We used a Filipino asset but his booking was denied. We then used a Korean national as an asset and we were able to book a girl. The asset met the girl at a hotel,” said Dimaano.
Customers were charged P3,500 with the women saying they would get P1,500 from each booking.
