TUGUEGARAO CITY –– Thirty police chiefs and provincial branch heads were relieved from their posts following a month-long audit that reflected their “subpar performances,” a top police official in Cagayan Valley said.
Brig. Gen. Angelito Casimiro, Cagayan Valley regional police director, on Tuesday said he ordered the “massive region-wide reshuffle” to put “effective and efficient” officials on key positions.
“This is a wake-up call for the police chiefs [so that they would] exert their best [efforts],” he told reporters here.
Casimiro announced his plan of a reshuffle on Monday.
The regional police senior officers’ placement and promotion board and oversight committee has recommended the revamp, he added.
Among those relieved from posts were 12 police chiefs and two provincial branch heads in Isabela province; and 13 police chiefs, a police force commander and two other branch heads in Cagayan province./lzb
