MANILA, Philippines —A woman was arrested after allegedly shoplifting makeup and skincare products, including those popularized by the Korean beauty industry, in a department store in Marikina City, police said Tuesday.
According to a report from the Marikina City police, the suspect entered the store Monday afternoon carrying a shoulder bag and took items from the beauty section before entering the fitting room.
Police said she went out a few minutes after and paid only some items she took from the stalls.
A lady guard, however, noticed and approached the suspect and saw unpaid cosmetic items from the latter’s bag, prompting the apprehension of the suspect.
Among the items the woman allegedly stole were a sheet mask, peeling gel, primer, serum, brow brush, and a liquid foundation all worth P1,579, according to police.
The woman was turned over to the Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch of the Marikina City police and will undergo inquest proceedings.
