Registration of overseas voters resumes Monday

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to resume on Monday the registration of overseas voters in all Philippine embassies and consulates to enable them to vote for the May 2022 national and local polls.

Based on Comelec Resolution No. 10619, the period to file application to become registered overseas voters will run from Dec. 16, 2019 until Sept. 30, 2021.

However, those applying for transfer from post to Philippine municipality/city will only run from Dec. 16, 2019 to Aug. 31, 2021.

All Filipinos, who are abroad or will be abroad during the 30-day voting period, at least 18 years old, and not disqualified by law may register as overseas voters. —Tina G. Santos
