‘Friday the 13th’ road mishap kills 6 in Tacurong
KIDAPAWAN CITY –– A family of six from General Santos City was killed in a dawn road mishap in Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat on Friday (Dec. 13).
Colonel Rey Egos, Tacurong police chief, said the six casualties in the road accident belonged to one family.
The accident happened around 4 a.m. when five vehicles figured in a smash-up along the national highway in Barangay Poblacion.
Egos said the family was aboard a motorcab, which was smashed by a speeding sports utility vehicle (SUV), throwing all on board into the concrete road that led to their death.
Egos added that the family came from General Santos City and was on their way to Tacurong City.
The driver of the SUV, meanwhile, lost control of the vehicle and bumped a concrete wall after smashing the motorcab.
Egos said the driver of the SUV, who was unscathed, is now under the custody of the Tacurong city police.
