Notorious drug suspect busted in Quezon sting, P.5M shabu seized

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested a big-time drug suspect who yielded more than P500,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Mauban, Quezon before dawn Friday.

Maria Cristina Camacho, 36, was arrested after she sold shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Lual Poblacion at around 12:50 a.m., Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon provincial police chief, said.

The suspect yielded two plastic sachets of shabu worth around P18,000.

Police later searched Camacho’s residence in Barangay San Lorenzo and discovered an electronic weighing scale and 17 plastic sachets of shabu (91.59 grams) with an estimated street value of  P500,000.

Camacho is in the local police’s drug watch list and is a known big-time pusher who supplies shabu to street level peddlers.

Reformed drug users reported to authorities the nefarious activities of Camacho.
