Friday weather forecast: Cloudy skies, scattered rain showers nationwide

MANILA, Philippines — Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain showers due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan,” easterlies and localized thunderstorms will prevail in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The weather bureau warned of possible flash floods and landslides in rain-affected areas.

Pagasa said extreme Northern Luzon will experience strong northeast winds and rough (2.8 to 4.5 meters) coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will have a similar wind direction but moderate to strong speed and moderate to rough (1.2 to 2.8 meters) coastal waters.

Visayas and Mindanao, on the other hand, will have light to moderate east to northeast winds and slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.1 meters) coastal waters.

The lowest temperature was 24.4 °C recorded at 5:50 a.m. while the maximum temperature will be 30.2 °C at 1:50 p.m., according to Pagasa.

The sun rose at 6:12 a.m. and will set at 5:28 p.m.
