Manila cops kill 2

Two men were killed while a policeman was wounded in separate shootouts in Santa Cruz, Manila on Wednesday night. Manila Police District Station 3 commander, Police Lt. Col. Reynaldo Magdaluyo, said that some policemen went to New Antipolo corner Tomas Mapua Streets after receiving a tip about armed men in the area. When they got there, Rodel Vicente and Antonio Yap reportedly fired at them, leading to a shootout. Vicente was killed while Police Cpl. Edgil Bombase sustained four gunshot wounds. Found in Vicente’s possession were a .22-cal. revolver and drugs. —Nikka G. Valenzuela
