MANILA, Philippines — Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two brothers who allegedly yielded around P6.8 million worth of suspected crystal meth, locally known as shabu, in a buy-bust in Port Area, Manila.
PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino on Friday identified the suspects as Hairodin Mamasonda Kasim and Norhan Mamasonda Palagoyan, who were netted by operatives in an operation at about 2:15 p.m. Thursday.
According to Aquino, the suspected illegal drugs confiscated from the two weighed around a kilogram and were placed in 20 plastic sachets and then concealed inside a Chinese tea pack.
PDEA agents also recovered from the suspects the marked cash and boodle money, as well as two cellphones, allegedly used in the transaction.
Cases for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared for filing against the alleged drug peddlers.
