PH Navy launches procurement web app

MANILA, Philippines — In a bid to promote transparent and efficient procurement, the Philippine Navy on Wednesday launched a web application to serve as a public procurement monitoring platform for their projects.

Procurement Information System Management (PrISM), which can be accessed at https://prism.navy.mil.ph, is designed for “efficient monitoring” of Philippine Navy projects by integrating project status updates from procurement stakeholders.

The web application was developed by the Information Systems Group of the Headquarters Naval Information and Communications Technology Center.

Defense assistant secretary for logistics and acquisitions Jesus Rey Avilla said he would recommend the web application to the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines.

“Mai-eradicate natin ‘yung sinasabi nating corruption, connivance, para malaman nila kung ano talaga ang estado ng kanilang mga proposal, offer, so transparency is the bottom line of all these things,” he told reporters.

Navy vice commander Maj. Gen. Dante Hidalgo said the project “represents the recognition of the Philippine Navy to ensure a procurement system which enjoys the confidence and support of the Filipino people.”
