MANILA, Philippines -The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday said it is planning to create guidelines with mall owners for the country’s month-long sale in March 2020.
MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said they would need to coordinate with mall owners on parking issues and traffic congestion.
“If we push through with that one we just need to see kung ano guidelines para mapatawag natin yung mall owners. Malaman natin kung saan dadaaan mapatawag natin yung parking yan of course,” Garcia said in a press conference.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) started the March project which will partner with SM Malls, Ayala Malls, Megaworld, Vista Land, Robinsons, SSI, Shangri-La and Powerplant Malls to bolster tourism in the Philippines.
Garcia stressed that the MMDA would give 100-percent support for DOT’s mall sale. He said MMDA would give efforts on traffic management plans for mall sales.
