LRT-1 extends operating schedule for 1 more hour for holidays
MANILA, Philippines — Passengers of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) may now enjoy staying out late this holiday season as the train line added another hour to its operating schedule.
The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) has extended anew its operating hours to accommodate more passengers amid the holiday rush.
“We have added an extra hour in our last train schedule to accommodate everyone this holiday season,” LRMC Corporate Communications Head Jacqueline Gorospe told reporters in a Viber group on Wednesday.
From Monday to Saturday, the last trip from Baclaran station in Parañaque City will leave at 11 p.m. from the previous 10 p.m. departure while the last train from Roosevelt station will leave at 11:15 p.m.
During Sundays, the last trip from Baclaran will leave at 9:30 p.m. and the last train from Roosevelt will depart 9:45 p.m.
The first two trains will still leave both ends of the train line at 4:30 a.m.
Article continues after this advertisementThis schedule is effective from Dec. 11 to Dec. will take effect starting Wednesday, Dec. 11 until Dec. 31, LRMC said.

With the extra hour, the LRT-1 will be able to accommodate 30,000 more passengers daily, Gorospe said.
“Madami kaming nakukuhang feedback or requests na sana i-extend more [‘yung operating hours] to accommodate the surge of people especially this time around [with the] extended mall hours, Christmas events and shopping,” she added.
