Leyte, Tacloban gov’t employees get Christmas bonuses

TACLOBAN CITY –– Regular and casual employees of the Tacloban City government will receive a cash bonus in time for the Christmas season.

The local government allocated P34.5 million for around 2,000 city government workers, said Henry James Roca of the City Information Office.

Regular workers will receive a bonus of P35,000 each, while casual employees and job order workers will get P10,000 and P6,000 respectively.

Also included in the budget set aside by the city government are more than 1,240 barangay officials who will receive P2,000 each.

City Mayor Alfred Romualdez and other elected officials of the city government will likewise receive bonuses.

At the provincial government, Leyte Gov. Leopoldo Dominico Petilla also authorized the release of P23 million for the bonuses of more than 2,700 employees.

The provincial employees received their bonus last December 6 during their Christmas party.

Both the regular and casual workers received P30,000 each, while the job order workers of the provincial government got P8,000.
