Makati police probing reported abduction of Chinese woman

MANILA, Philippines  – The Makati City police on Tuesday said a thorough investigation is being conducted on the reported abduction of a Chinese woman by three Chinese men in the city central business district.

Makati City police chief Col. Rogelio Simon said that based on witnesses’ accounts, the victim casually hopped aboard a Kia Carnival van along Paseo de Roxas corner Nieva Street on Monday at 9 p.m.

The two suspects also went inside the van.

After a few minutes, witnesses said the victim tried to force her way out of the vehicle and started shouting.

The vehicle sped off with the victim, as shown on video footage taken by witnesses.

In an ocular inspection at the scene, police found documents said to have been dropped or left behind by the victim, including a vehicle deed of sale and photocopies of passports of Chinese nationals.
