VP’s findings on drug war won’t discredit anyone – spox

MANILA, Philippines — The findings of Vice President Leni Robredo when she was co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) will not discredit anyone but will focus on her recommendations for the anti-drug drive, according to her spokesperson, Barry Gutierrez.

President Rodrigo Duterte fired Robredo as ICAD co-chair less than a month after appointing her. After being fired, Robredo said she would divulge her findings on the drug war after the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

“It’s not the style of the Vice President to discredit anyone,” Gutierrez said in Filipino during “BISErbisyong LENI,” Robredo’s Sunday program aired over AM radio station DZXL. “She herself does not get back at those who try to discredit her.”

But Gutierrez clarified that the Vice President would release important information that would improve the anti-drug campaign.

“But here she will clarify what she discovered as important information and what she thinks needs to be improved,” Gutierrez added.

According to him, Robredo’s goal is not to pull down anyone but to cooperate with the government in the fight against the proliferation of illegal drugs.

“Because all of us are cooperating and this illegal drug problem is something that we should work on together,” Gutierrez said.
