CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan –– Two suspects who fought undercover policemen in a Friday (Dec. 6) drug bust were killed, breaking the zero-fatality record set in November by the Bulacan police office.
Jayvee Ancho Dineros and a suspect identified as Jun opened fire after sensing they were transacting with the police at midnight in Sitio (sub-village) Pakolis, Gaya-gaya village in the City of San Jose del Monte, said Police Lt. Col. Emma Libunao, newly installed Bulacan police director.
Libunao said Dineros was in the police drug watchlist.
Recovered from the suspects were 21 sachets of shabu (crystal meth) and a shotgun.
The last recorded fatality of a police drug operation was Allan Omila of Quezon City, who was killed on Nov. 5 in Barangay Guyong, Sta. Maria town.
Libunao replaced Lt. Col. Chito Bersaluna on Monday (Dec. 2). She vowed to reduce the death count while pursuing an aggressive anti-drug campaign.
Libunao hails from San Ildefonso town./lzb
