CLARK FREEPORT –– As many as 120 “supercars” and “superbikes” raced at the Clark International Speedway here on Saturday (Dec. 7) to help the Philippine Chinese Racing Club (PCRC) generate funds for charity.

“This is a race for hope, one lap at a time,” according to a spokesperson of the elite club, which initially raised P500,000 for the Mabalacat City-based Duyan ni Maria, a home for children who were abandoned, neglected, or surrendered by their parents.

Sr. Maria Alessandrina Casas, the 89-year-old matriarch of Duyan, attended the event, tagging along 45 of her wards who received grocery items and gifts.

“This is an awesome Christmas from our Chinese friends,” said Casas, a native of Cebu province, who founded Duyan ni Maria in 1996. /lzb
