OFW killed, teacher hurt in Lucena shooting
LUCENA CITY – An overseas Filipino worker was killed and a teacher was injured when they were ambushed by a motorcycle-riding gunman in this city before midnight Friday, police said.
Police report identified the victims as overseas worker Marwin Mendoza, 30, and teacher Roxanne Reyes, 36.
Report said the victims were on board a motorcycle being driven by Mendoza and Reyes as back rider when the still unidentified motorcycle-riding assailant armed with caliber .45 pistol repeatedly fired at them in Barangay (village) Salinas around 10 p.m.
Mendoza died on the spot from several bullet wounds while Reyes, who was only hit on her right leg, was taken to Lucena Doctor’s Hospital.
Police recovered seven spent shells and two fired bullets at the crime scene.
Police are investigating the incident.
