Hardware worker gunned down in Lucena

LUCENA CITY –– An employee of a big hardware store in this city was shot and killed by an unidentified assailant Thursday night, police said Friday.

The police report said the victim Roberto Aldon Jr., 34, was walking home to the employees’ staff house in a nearby subdivision when the suspect armed with a still unknown handgun approached and shot him at close range around 6:30 p.m.

The gunman hurriedly escaped after the shooting while the victim died on the spot.

Police described the suspect as about 30 years old, with a medium built body, 5’6” in height, wearing a baseball cap, brown shirt, jeans, and rubber shoes. He was carrying a backpack.

Patrolman Eduardo Nartea Jr., case investigator, said they had yet to establish the motive behind the killing.
