SAN PEDRO CITY –– Police recovered about P1.2 million worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Dasmariñas City in Cavite province.
In an earlier operation this week, the Cavite police also recovered alleged shabu worth P360,000 in Bacoor City.
Cavite police chief Col. Marlon Santos, on Thursday, said they arrested suspected drug dealer, Japar Mala, during the Dasmariñas operation around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Santos, Mala, 24, a native of Lanao del Sur, sold drugs to an undercover police officer in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Datu Esmael.
During the arrest, police found on him three more plastic packs or 200 grams of suspected shabu.
In the adjacent city of Bacoor, suspected drug dealer Joseph Alvin Perez was killed while his companions, Jude Declaro and Mark Angelo Lapaz, were arrested in a separate buy-bust operation in Barangay Molino III on Tuesday evening.
Santos said Perez tried to resist arrest by shooting at the police officers. Police returned fire and killed the suspect on the scene.
Perez turned out to be a live-in partner of suspected drug pusher, Mary Jane Salvador.
The Bacoor City police arrested Salvador in a prior operation and recovered from her about 60 grams or P360,000 worth of shabu.
