Abu Sayyaf member nabbed in Basilan

SANTA ROSA, Laguna, Philippines—An alleged member of the Abu Sayyaf Group tagged in the 2007 beheading of 11 Marines and in the Dos Palmas kidnapping in 2001 was arrested by police in Basilan Friday, a Philippine National Police spokesman said.

Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said that Boy Abdulphata, alias Boy Pahta, was arrested by in Barangay Kumaralang, Isabela City, based on an arrest warrant for murder issued by Judge Leo Prinsipe of the Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region Branch 1.


Cruz Jr. said that Abdulphata is now under the custody of Police Regional Office 9.
