MANILA, Philippines — Two local government units (LGU) have suspended classes on Thursday, December 5, due to the onslaught of Typhoon Tisoy.
Classes are suspended in the following areas:
All levels
- Ilagan City, Isabela (due to swelling of rivers resulting in closure of bridges and roads)
Pre-school to Senior High School
- Naga City, Camarines Sur (road clearing activities and clean-up of schools)
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa), in its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, said Tisoy, now downgraded to a tropical storm, is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday morning.
It was last seen 540 kilometers west of Subic, Zambales with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gustiness of up to 80km/h.
