Duterte expected in Albay on Dec. 5 for Tisoy damage inspection, disaster council meet

LEGAZPI CITY—President Rodrigo Duterte was expected to be here on Thursday, Dec. 5, to inspect in person the damage wrought on the province of Albay by Typhoon Tisoy.

Preparations were being completed for a meeting of the diaster management councils of the national and local governments which Duterte would preside over, according to Claudio Yucot, head of the Office of Civil Defense in Bicol region.

Duterte was expected to check the extent of damage on the Legazpi Airport passenger terminal and proceed to the Legazpi City Convention Center for the disaster management councils’ meeting.

National disaster management officials and officials of other government agencies were expected to be with him. Mar S. Arguelles
