MANILA, Philippines — Two Korean nationals will be deported following their arrest for violating immigration laws, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported Wednesday.
The two Korean nationals were identified as 36-year-old Shin Jaewon and 53-year-old Park Kwang Soo, who were arrested in separate operations.
BI intelligence chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. said Shin has been in the bureau’s wanted list since September 17, after escaping government custody. He was re-arrested inside his hotel room in Cagayan de Oro City on November 27.
Manahan said Shin is wanted in Korea for fraud since 2012.
Meanwhile, Manahan said Park was arrested for overstaying in the country since 2006. He was apprehended in his residence in Davao City on November 28.
Manahan said Park presented a fake Philippine postal ID when arresting officers asked him to show his identification documents. Park was also not able to show his passport.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said the Korean nationals will be deported for violating immigration laws.
Likewise, they will also be blacklisted and banned from entering the country again.
