P6M untaxed cigarettes seized in Bulacan

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Police on Tuesday seized P6-million worth of untaxed cigarettes inside a warehouse in Balagtas town on Tuesday.
Lt. Col. Emma Libunao, acting Bulacan police director, said the cigarettes seized at the Fonchun Compound in Barangay Santol belongs to a certain John Lee and his business partners.
Bureau of Internal Revenue Deputy Commissioner Arnel Guballa ordered the raid, which included a team from the Japanese Tobacco Industries,
Seized from the compound were 245 master cases of Modern Far Star, Far Star, and other cigarette brands.
Libunao said the seized items are under police custody pending the filing of charges against the suspects, who were not present during the raid. Carmela Reyes Estrope
