LEGAZPI CITY –– The local government of Albay has offered free calls and charging services to residents affected by Typhoon “Tisoy.”

“This is to allow families to contact their relatives in other areas and charge their lamps and cellphones,” Cedric Daep, head of Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office, said.

Since Tuesday morning, communication lines were down in most towns of Albay and other provinces.

Daep said power restoration would take time because of several electric posts toppled by the typhoon.
