BOTOLAN, Zambales –– Some 25,000 Boy Scouts attending the 17th National Scout Jamboree here on Tuesday were forced to seek shelter in evacuation centers in preparation for Typhoon “Tisoy.”

Ramon Lacbain II, chair of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines-Zambales chapter, said the jamboree delegates were evacuated from their campsite in Barangay San Juan at 1 p.m.

Lacbain said the scouts boarded buses and trucks as they were transferred to at least 38 public schools.

Police Col. Rogelio Peñones, provincial police director, said the preemptive evacuation was to ensure the safety of the delegates who came from different provinces.
