Mandaue trounces BMEG
THE MANDAUE-CEBU Landmasters/RDAK defeated the undermanned BMEG Derby Ace Llamados, 72-68, in their exhibition game late Thursday night at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
Before a raucous crowd, which included Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes and Vice Mayor Glenn Bercede, the Landmasters put on an electric performance from beyond the three-point arc as they drained a total of 12 trifectas.
The Llamados played without superstars James Yap and Kerby Raymundo, who sat out the game after suffering similar ankle injuries during their match against the M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños on Wednesday night.
The Landmasters, champions of the Liga Pilipinas 2nd leg, waxed hot from the outside during the second canto, where they hit five three-point bombs for a 34-28 halftime lead.
The victory allowed Mandaue to gain a lot of momentum heading to their home leg in the Liga Pilipinas on June 8 to 11. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
