Mindoreños take to social media as Tisoy pummels island

MANILA, Philippines–Typhoon Tisoy barrelled toward Mindoro island Tuesday, wreaking havoc on the largely agricultural Oriental Mindoro province.

At 10 a.m.,  Tisoy centered 55 kilometers east of Calapan City, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its latest bulletin.

It slightly weakened as it heads toward the northern Mindoro and Batangas area but the typhoon remains strong and destructive, the state weather bureau said.

And as Tisoy leaves a trail of destruction, netizens took to social media to post photos and videos of ravaged plants, fallen trees and toppled houses.
