Explosion hits National Monument area in Central Jakarta
JAKARTA — An explosion occurred within the National Monument complex in Central Jakarta on Tuesday morning.
Kompas TV reported that the explosion took place at 7:05 a.m. within the complex located across the Home Ministry building on Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara.
Two Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel were reportedly injured in the blast, according to National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Argo Yuwono as quoted by Kompas TV.
The two victims have reportedly been taken to Gatot Subroto Army Hospital for treatment.
It is not yet known what caused the explosion. Police personnel have been deployed to investigate the incident.
