LUCENA CITY — All classes had been suspended in the entire province of Quezon in anticipation of Typhoon Tisoy, which continued to threaten areas on its path.
The Quezon public information office, through its Facebook page, revised the scheduled cancellation of all classes to stretch it until Wed, Dec. 4.
Earlier on Monday, Dec. 2, Gov. Danilo Suarez called for an emergency meeting of police, military and provincial officials and employees and decided to extend the duration of the class suspension.
Several towns in Quezon had already announced the suspension of classes in all levels until Wednesday through social media.
On Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 over the province.
The state weather bureau predicted that by Tuesday afternoon, the typhoon’s center would be in the vicinity of Tayabas City, 11 kilometers from Lucena City, the Quezon provincial capital.
