SAN PEDRO CITY–A former city vice mayor and currently city councilor of San Pablo, Laguna lost “hundreds of thousands-worth” of cash and jewelries to robbers, who broke into her home early Monday.

City police chief Lt. Col. Eliseo Bernales, in a phone interview, said no one was hurt in the incident as councilor Angelita Yang, 53, and her family were away in Manila when the robbery happened.

According to the police report, the robbers took cash, jewelries, and even household appliances.

Based on investigation, the burglars entered the house by cutting the iron grills off the windows.

Bernales said the robbers may have known the victims were away at that time and may have “studied” where the security cameras in the house were installed.

He said they already have some suspects but declined to name them as follow up operations continued.
