P5.4-M ‘shabu’ seized near Senate in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines — Around P5.4 million worth of suspected crystal meth, locally known as shabu, was confiscated by the police in an operation near the Senate in Pasay City on Sunday.

Personnel of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Pasay City Police launched a casing operation at about 2:30 p.m. on Diokno Boulevard in Barangay 76 that led to the arrest of six suspects identified as Nasrip Aiman, Rakiin Benito, Noe Ababa, Abdul Didagon, Florando Capistrano, and Erickson Alueta.

Aside from the 800 grams of suspected illegal drugs, police also seized a digital weighing scale and three plastic bottles with still unidentified tablets in the operation.

The suspected shabu will be turned over to the Southern Police District Crime Laboratory Office for chemical analysis.

The suspects are now detained at the SDEU custodial facility.
