MANILA, Philippines — The Manila city government shut down on Friday the Salgado Market in the Santa Cruz district after officials found 3,700 kilograms of smuggled meat from China.

City inspectors found Peking ducks, duck heads, black chicken and other processed meat products from China.

The private market was also found to have no business permit, an expired franchise and no occupational permits for 10 service personnel.
