LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines — Anticipating two Typhoon Tisoy landfalls in Bicol — one on Catanduanes Island and one at the Luzon mainland — four provinces here announced on Saturday the suspension of classes in all levels on Monday.
The typhoon entered the Philippine area of responsibility at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Classes in Camarines Sur and Catanduanes are suspended on Monday, while classes in Albay and Sorsogon will remain suspended until Tuesday.
Tisoy is expected to be at 190 km east of Virac town in Catanduanes on Monday afternoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in its first severe weather bulletin Saturday late afternoon.
Tisoy is expected to make landfall over Bicol between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.
