MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday said he was hoping his successor would not forget to address the drug problem.
“Two more years I can get out. Maybe we can look at this drug problem,” Duterte said in his speech during the celebration on the 156th birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio in Caloocan City.
“I just hope that my successor, if he really does not want a strong reaction, maybe he can be temperate a little but he should not forget about drugs,” Duterte added, speaking partly in Filipino.
He said the drug problem had become an “everyday occurrence.”
