MANILA, Philippines — The San Juan City government has ordered the suspension of classes to make way for the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
In a memorandum on Friday, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora ordered cancelation of classes in all levels for public and private schools in the city that will coincide with 3 on 3 Basketball games and E-Sports at the FilOil Flying V Centre from Dec. 1 to Dec. 2 and Dec. 5 to Dec. 10.
The memorandum said the suspension of classes will address the expected heavy traffic in San Juan and ensure “timely transport of athletes, officials, and delegates” for the SEA Games.
Aside from San Juan City, the Arellano Law School, St. Scholastica’s College and De La Salle University in Manila will also suspend classes from Dec. 2 to 7.
St Paul College of Pasig and St. Pedro Poveda College canceled classes on Dec. 2 to Dec. 6 for the SEA Games.
