Police raid QC spa having ‘extra service’; 6 therapists rescued
MANILA, Philippines — Police raided a spa in Tandang Sora Ave., Quezon City that was offering “extra service.”
In a statement, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo said it raided the establishment Thursday night.
During the operation, police arrested the spa manager identified as 34-year-old Rufilyn Tabac. Police also confirmed that the spa was front for prostitution.
Six female therapists were also rescued during the operation and were turned over to the Quezon City Social Services Development Department.
However, the spa owner Wiljay Puno managed to escape, police said.
Puno will face charges for violating Republic Act 9208 or the “Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003” and C.O SP 91, S-93 or the Quezon City Revenue Code.
