MANILA, Philippines — The Pasig City government has started spreading the joys of Christmas.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said Thursday that the local government has already begun their distribution of Christmas food bags as part of their “Pamaskong Handog” project. The city will give away more than 400,000 units of food bags all throughout this season. Over 2,000 Pasig City government staff and volunteers will deliver the gift bags to city residents.

“Pinapaabot ng inyong lokal na pamahalaan ang diwa ng pagbibigayan sa isang simpleng handog na makadagdag sa inyong pagdiriwang ng Pasko,” Sotto said in a statement.
