4 NABBED, GUNS SEIZED IN NAGA

POLICE arrested four men in connection with a series of robberies in Cebu province.

Romel Adaro, 21, of Zamboanga del Norte; Jordan Mariquit, 21, of Pangdan, Naga City; Joemar Placencia, 21, of Daanbantayan town, Cebu; and Joseph Lawas, 33, of Kabungahan, Danao City were arrested in what police described as their hideout in barangay Pangdan, Naga City, southern Cebu, on Thursday afternoon.

Recovered during the arrest were two .45 pistols, two .357 revolvers and a red motorcycle believed to be a stolen vehicle.

Police arrested the four men while conducting a hot-pursuit operation against a shooting suspect.

Police said Adaro was tagged as a suspect in the shooting and wounding of Edward Abao in Pangdan last June 1.

Police are still waiting for robbery victims to identify the four men before robbery charges could be filed against them.

GIRL DROWNS

THE body of a 12-year-old girl was found floating in the waters off barangay Labogon, Mandaue City, on Thursday.

Police said the girl had asked her grandmother permission to swim after gathering firewood in sitio Lapyahan.

Hours later, the girl’s body was found floating by Freddie Pitogo, 25, a stay-in worker of Jumalia Shipyard Inc.
