MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) said Tuesday it is open to hearing the “discoveries” of Vice President Leni Robredo in her less-than-a-month stint as drug czar.

“Bukas ang PNP sa anumang ipapahayag ni Vice President Leni Robredo para sa lalo pang ikabubuti ng kampanya laban sa high-value targets ng iligal na droga at sa pagsulong ng community-based drug rehabilitation program,” PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said in a statement.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Aaron Aquino also earlier encouraged Robredo to proceed with her promise to give a “report” to the public and announce what she had “uncovered” when she led the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD).

She vowed to also raise some recommendations for the drug war, which she had since criticized for the deaths of drug suspects in the streets for allegedly resisting arrest.

Robredo made this pledge a day after she was sacked as ICAD chair by President Rodrigo Duterte over her taunt to just tell her plainly if he does not want her holding the position.

In a fierce statement on Monday, she also asked Duterte on what he was afraid for her or the public to know in his controversial drug war.
