07:05 AM June 04, 2011

Over a hundred volunteers and employees of the Aboitiz Group once again trooped to the Banilad Elementary School and Night High School in barangay Banilad, Cebu City to join the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela.

Last May 28 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the group led by Aboitiz Foundation managing trustee Sonny Carpio painted the armchairs and walls of the decade-old Gabaldon building with paints from the Aboitiz Group.

The volunteers included scholars from Aboitiz Equity Ventures and Aboitiz Foundation Inc., Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit alumni and interns.
Carpio said the activity was simultaneously done in areas throughout the country where the Aboitiz companies operate.

In Cebu City, Carpio said they chose the Banilad Elementary School and Night High School as the recipient of Brigada Eskwela activity since 2008 because it is the school nearest to their company.
