MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has designated Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea as the government’s officer-in-charge (OIC) while he is in Busan for the 2019 Asean-Korea Summit.
Duterte is scheduled to fly to South Korea on Sunday night to attend the two-day summit and meet with Korean President Moon Jae-in.
Under Special Order 1346, Duterte tasked Medialdea to “ensure the continuity of government service” and to “take care of day-to-day operations” as OIC of the executive department while the President is in Korea.
